Cubillejo through its history

He Ponce Tower of Lion It was built on a rocky mound in the XII century with a defensive function, since from there the family property lands were controlled.

The building, two stories high, has a lintel door of great beauty. In it you can see a stone carved with a legend that narrates the passage through Cubillejo of the Ponce de León, as is also demonstrated in the imposing family coat of arms seen on its façade.

This building was donated by the Molina City Council to the “Sierra de Caldereros” Cultural Association, which has rehabilitated and recovered as a Historical Museum.

Conceived in a very didactic way, this museum allows you to learn about the entire history of the town, as well as its monuments (parish church, parones, hermitages, traditional oven, Celtiberian and Visigoth village, traditional architecture, etc.), all through a easy walk to read murals, which invite you to take a simple walking tour to get to know them in the place.
