Characteristic habitats: temporary pond flora, cushioned creeping scrub (cambronal), thymes, calcareous alpine meadows, saline Mediterranean grasslands, endemic heaths with gorse, stands of holm oak (Quercus ilex), oak (Q. pyrenaica) and gall oak (Q. faginea ), juniper forests and juniper forests.
Outstanding values and most representative and unique species: important populations of steppe birds, highlighting the Dupont's lark (Chersophillus duponti), the bustard, the curlew, the little bustard and the sandgrouse. Wet areas that serve as wintering and passage areas for numerous waterfowl and also crane populations.
