GEOROUTE 8: Checa – Chequilla

This route will help you discover the incredible secrets hidden in the rocks. With the help of the panels, you will discover extinct animals, rocks brought here by icebergs, reliefs of curious shapes and you will even be able to witness the formation of new rocks.

Not very obvious information, but with a little patience it will show you that the rocks are like an open book and hold a lot of information. The route consists of three branches that leave the town of Checa. They are all interesting, but if you don't have time to go through them all, you can always do just one of them and leave the others for another day.

CHARACTERISTICS

Length: 16 km
Recommendations: The route consists of three branches that start from the town of Checa so they can be traveled independently.
By car: 3-4 HOURS. The entire route is feasible except access to stops 3 and 9.
By bike: 4-5 HOURS
Walking: Access to Stop 3 is via a 2-minute walk. Access to Stop 9 requires a 15-minute round-trip walk.
