Mesa River Valley
It is a valley excavated by the Mesa River that originates in the municipality of Know them and flows towards the north, forming part of the Ebro hydrographic basin. Its main geological value is based on the fact that it is embedded in an important sedimentary series from the Triassic, Jurassic and Tertiary periods, which is why on its steep slopes there are outcrops with a great variety of stratigraphic details.
Therefore, it is not strange that in this environment the Type Sections of several formations from the aforementioned periods have been described and based on the fossils from this area, José Torrubia published the first Spanish scientific treatise on paleontology in 1754.
How to get: This valley is crossed by roads: CM-2107 in its upper course and GU-427 in its middle course, in addition to the Georoute nº11 of the Molina Region Geopark – Alto Tajo
