FITUR 2025 International Tourism Fair

Nature and Tourism will merge at the Geoparks stand at FITUR

The Spanish Network of Global Geoparks will be present for the second consecutive year at the
Feria Internacional de Turismo-FITUR 2025, edición 45ª que se celebrará del 22 al 26 de enero,
with a stand where the uniqueness of these territories and the spectacular nature of their landscapes come together to showcase an innovative tourist offer. The Geoparks stand in Pavilion 7 a.19 at Ifema will have a 40 m2 space, which will include three counters where information on Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American geoparks will be distributed, as well as general information on the Global Geoparks. The space will have a large-format screen, a photocall area and a meeting point for professionals from the tourism sector, both public and private. This deployment has been possible thanks to the collaboration of the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID).

The official opening of the stand is scheduled for 22 January at 2:00 p.m. The event will be attended by Santiago Sierra, president of the Spanish National Geoparks Committee; Emmaline Rosado, coordinator of the Geoparks Network of Latin America and the Caribbean (GeoLAC); Artur Sá, representative of the executive committee of the Global Geoparks Network (GGN); and Karmah Salman, coordinator of the Spanish Global Geoparks Network (REGM). Delegations made up of political representatives, technicians and companies from the tourism sector of the 17 Spanish Geoparks, as well as one candidate Geopark, will attend.

At the Fitur 2025 stand, the Geoparks will make presentations of their destinations and products
tourist attractions and will present the latest developments that allow us to know and explore them in

One of the highlighted activities of the Geoparks stand at Fitur 2025 will be the raffle for a tourist experience in one of the destinations. The contest will be open to all visitors of the
stand during the 25th and 26th of January. The prize consists of a tourist experience for two
people, which includes two nights' accommodation, one activity and one tasting.

This year marks 10 years since the UNESCO General Assembly ratified the creation of the UNESCO Global Geoparks. As in the last edition, the REGM has invited the geoparks of Latin America to participate in this world-renowned event in the tourism sector, which, in its long history, has become a key global meeting point for tourism industry professionals and the largest business platform in the sector. The first three days of Fitur open its doors exclusively to professional visitors and during the weekend also to the general public.

On the first two days of the fair (22 and 23 January), at midday there will be a tasting of local products from the Spanish and Portuguese Geoparks, consisting of quality products such as cheese, sausages and wine.

In this edition of Fitur, the Geoparks will also be present digitally through the
