Molina-Alto Tajo Geopark

A team of people committed to a common goal: to make the Comarca de Molina-Alto Tajo Geopark a benchmark thanks to its values and peculiarities.


GEOPARK WORK TEAM

The Geopark is managed by a technical team made up of a manager, a tourism technician specialized in sustainable development and a geologist and scientific coordinator. This team performs the tasks necessary to maintain membership within the Global Geopark Network. There is also an Economic and Social Advisory Committee made up of companies in the tourism sector and cultural associations of the territory and a Scientific Committee made up of researchers in geology, history, botany and other fields who have carried out or carry out work in the Geopark.

Maria Viorreta Medina

Tourism Technician

Graduated in Tourism from the University of Alcalá de Henares. From 2015 to the present Tourism Technician of the UNESCO World Geopark Molina-Alto Tajo Region. Playing multiple key roles in the tourism sector, leading projects and strategies to increase awareness and interest in this world heritage. Local Tourist Informant of the municipality of Molina de Aragón, providing guidance and knowledge to visitors and Starlight monitor. Promoter in the promotion of sustainable tourism practices and training and technical assistance to CETS (European Charter for Sustainable Tourism) companies. Within the Spain Ecotourism Club, responsible as a destination manager, where I have led strategic initiatives to promote ecotourism and sustainable tourism in our region.

José Antonio Martínez Perruca

Geologist

Graduate in Geological Sciences from the Complutense University.
Postgraduate training in pedagogy. He has received training in geological heritage, Geoparks and management of work teams.
Representative as a geologist in the Molina-Alto Tajo Region UNESCO Global Geopark, taking care of the promotion and dissemination of its heritage from the beginning of this as a candidacy for European Geopark in 2008, until today, when he is technical scientific coordinator. Over time, it has combined the previous activity with occupational training, forming part of the registry of trainers in Castilla La Mancha.
